On Tuesday night the Blazers faced off against Miami Valley. Miami Valley came into the game with a similar record and was ahead of the Blazers in the Division 6 Soutwest District rankings. In a tough back and forth game that saw the Rams shoot ten more free throws than the Blazers, we were able to make some plays down the stretch and seal the game in OT. In the 3rd quarter the Blazers had went down 5 points, before Nick Brubaker took a charge that fire the entire team up. The Blazers then got 8 straight stops on defense and was able to take back control of the game. This was a pivotal win for our tournament draw coming up. Kellen Laird led the Blazers with 14 points and 4 assists. Tayden Blevins finished with 9 points and 8 rebounds, Nick Brubaker had 7 points and hit the game sealing free throw, Brancin Mowen had (2) big threes, Daniel Turpin chipped in 5 points and played stellar defense on Miami Valley's 6'8 center, Lucas Alexander finished with 4 points and Jonah Brinkley and Talon Bousman rounded out the scoring with 2 each. Ethan Osswald played stellar defense and was physical the entire game. The team defense played in this one is what secured a big win for the Blazers.
