BLAZERS SPLIT THE WEEKEND

On January 31, the Blazers traveled to Ansonia for a WOAC battle. The Blazers came out shooting hot and moving the ball to take a 21-6 lead after the first. In the second they continued to share the ball and knock down open shots to take a 47-22 lead into halftime. The Blazers then finished the game off with a 78-58 win. Tayden Blevins finished with 23 points, Kellen Laird with 15 points and dished out 9 assists and Daniel Turpin chipped in 11 points and 7 Rebounds. Several Blazers contributed scoring rebounding and defending. Brancin Mowen and Lucas Alexander each had 8 points each, Nick Brubaker added 5 points, Mason Cordle had 4 points, Korbin Sullivan had 4 points and Talon Bousman chipped in 1 point with a stellar defensive night. Jonah Brinkley gave solid minutes patrolling the paint and Josh Osswald was able to play for the first time this reason and pulled down a rebound.

On February 1 the Blazers traveled to Brookville for a non-conference matchup. The Blazers started sluggish and Brookville's speed and athleticism proved to be too much. The Blazers dropped the contest 60-30. Ethan Osswald led NT with 6 points, Kellen Laird and Nick Brubaker each added 5 points. Daniel Turpin and Tayden Blevins each chipped in 3 points and Blevins as battled foul trouble. Jonah, Talon, Brancin, and Mason each tossed in a bucket to give the Blazers an even 30 points to finish the game.
