The 8th Grade Lady Blazers traveled to Newton to play an undefeated Lady Indians in our final regular season game. Going into the game we knew we would have to play some of the best defense we have played all season, and the ladies were up to the challenge. We went into half time up by 1 point in a 13-12 game. Early foul trouble in the 1st half led to some adjustments, but every player on the team stepped up and played their roles on both sides of the ball. In the 3rd quarter the Lady Indians got some quick buckets to take an early led, but we rallied right back keeping the #1 team on the WOAC within 8 points. We outscored them in the final quarter however it just wasn't enough to ever move ahead on the score board. It was a great battle to watch and to see that much fire from our Ladies this late in the season is what we need going into tournaments this weekend.
Kinley Marker was out lead score with 8 points, followed by Madison Lawson with 6. Harper Henderson and Kenady Thompson came up big for us in post play coming away with 4 and 3 points respectively. Ioma Alavez and Audrey Bane rounded out our scoring each adding a bucket. Leigha Denlinger went 2-2 on her foul shots finishing with 2 points.
