On Saturday the Lady Blazers traveled to Eaton, in hopes of keeping up their end of the season winning streak. Both teams started out with great defensive pressure, and it looked like it was going to be a really competitive game. The first quarter ended with Eaton up by one point 6-5. The second quarter was a different story unfortunately. The Lady Eagles exploded in the second quarter scoring 15 points to our lone foul shot made by Meah Pearson.
Offensively the ladies were getting the looks, the ball just wasn't falling for them. That did stop the Lady Blazers from trying to score, they still kept trying to find the bottom of the net. This just wasn't our game to get the good bounces. Madison Lawson led the team with 5 points, Meah Pearson added 3. Kenady Thompson and Kinley Marker rounded out the scoring with 1 basket each.
Defensively the combo of Harper Henderson and Kenady Thompson shut down their 6'1" player only allowing her 4 points, where her coach said she was averaging 14-15 per game. Playing teams with such height advantages has hurt us in the past, but I was really proud of how hard those ladies worked, and the rest of the team to keep her at bay, it was a great step in the right direction. We hope to bounce back against another SWBL team traveling to Carlise on Thursday for a 5:30 start time wth 7th grade.
