On Saturday night the Blazers returned to action in the Championship game against Tri-County North. The game started off with a lot of energy and was back and forth. NT ended the first quarter on a buzzer beater put back by Tayden Blevins to take a 16-10 lead into the 2nd quarter. North changed up some defenses which stifled the NT Offense late in the second half until Kellen Laird hit a buzzer beater 3 pointer to end the half and give NT a 10-point halftime lead. NT came out a little sluggish in the 3rd quarter and North closed the gap down to as little as 5 points. NT found their stride about midway through the 3rd quarter and was able to pull away. NT came back and played great defense in the 4th only giving up 7 points and took the win with a final of 55-38. The second night in a row NT played stifling team defense and gave up less than 40 points to an opponent. Kellen Laird was named MVP of the tournament and finished the game with 14 points, 10 rebounds, 8 assists, and 4 steals. Tayden Blevins and Brancin Mowen were also named to the All-Tournament Team and finished with 12 points, 8 Rebounds, 2 assists and 11 points, 4 Rebounds, and went 3/4 from 3-point range respectively. Daniel Turpin finished with 6 points and 9 rebounds, Ethan Osswald added 4 points, Nick Brubaker, Lucas Alexander, Korbin Sullivan, and Talon Bousman all chipped in two points. Jonah Brinkley played stellar defense during his playing time. Again, a great team win for the Blazers.
