Monday the JV girls kicked off the week with their first home game of the season. They battled a tough Milton Union team but despite their efforts they took their first loss of the season. Final score being 32-25. Eva Swartsell and Bre Leal led the team in scoring with 6 each. Claire Osswald added 5 and Peyton White had 4. Sammy Gardner made 3 foul shots and Kira Rutan made 1.
Thursday the team traveled to Bradford for a 2 quarter matchup. The girls came out a little sluggish trailing 7-3 in the first quarter. Fortunately we picked it up in the second and brought home a 15-13 win. Claire Osswald led the team with 8 points, Bre Leal had 5. Sammy Gardner and Peyton White added a foul shot each to finish up the scoring.
Saturday we traveled to Indiana to play Randolph Southern and were able to bring home a nice 41-16 win. The girls all worked hard as a team and it showed in the outcome. Breanna Leal led the team in scoring with a season high of 18 points. She also had a few nice assists, one being to teammate Audrey Thomas for her first 2 points of the season. Claire Osswald sunk two 3's, and Peyton White had 3 under the basket shots for 6 points each. Eva Swartsell ended the game with 5 and Sammy Gardner had 4 to round off the blazers.
