8TH GRADE PICKS UP FIRST CONFERENCE AND HOME GAME WIN

8th Grade picks up first conference and home game win
Defense was the name of the game Monday night for the 8th grade Lady Blazers. Burdened by foul trouble early in the 1st quarter, the Lady Blazers were still able to hold FM to only 3 points in the first half, all of which coming from foul shots. Madison Lawson came out on fire offensively scoring 8 of her 10 points in the first quarter helping lead the team to a 14-3 half time score. Meah Pearson had a great game on both ends of the court scoring 6 of her own, and impressive help side defense on the other end. Harper Henderson had another solid game racking in 4 points, with 5 rebounds. Audrey Bane had a well-rounded game scoring her 1st points of the season, having an offensive and defensive rebound and an assist.
As a team the defense stepped up big time, they came away with 10 steals, which held the Lady Jets to very few scoring opportunities. Their only points off baskets came late in the 4th quarter; their other 6 points came off foul shots.
This team is starting off strong with two impressive wins. We hope to continue building and learning as a team to keep us progressing throughout the season. Our next game will be away at TCN on Monday 12/2. This game will be 8th grade only starting at 5:30.
