Thursday night the Lady Blazers traveled to Dixie to play in our last conference game of the season. By far it was one of the best games we have played to date. This team has come so far from the beginning of the season to now and it all came together tonight. Senior Josie Stiner was able to break free twice tonight to find the back of the net. She is such a utility player and has been such a strong presence on our defense it was nice to get her out and let her run. She made several big plays all over the field not including her two goals. Senior Megan Irvin picked herself up another clean up goal tonight. She has such a great knack for crashing the net and finishing off shots for the team. Freshman Bre Leal got her first Varsity goal of the season. She has been working so hard the past couple of games and it finally cumulated into a goal. It was so great watching the team rally around her after the goal celebrating her achievement. Senior Belle Anderson and Sophomore Lillian Cordle added to their assists column for the season each picking up one.
Freshman Taylor Reynolds had another stellar game. Hosting her first complete shut out of the season with eight saves. Her strength and confidence has progressed with every game. Taylor was back tonight by a great defensive effort from Taryn Rucci, Ollie Mason and Kenzie Harper. Our Midfielders controlled the tempo of the game beautifully, progressing the ball from one end of the field to the other giving our front-line opportunities to take shots.
The bond these girls have built this season is something every coach can only dream of, they build each other up, celebrate the others success and don't have a selfish bone in their bodies, everything they do is for the betterment of the team. We will play our last regular game of the season on Saturday at home start time is 1 pm.
