Boys golf advances to state
The National Trail boys golf team competed in the Southwest district tournament at Pipestone golf course and came away in first place and district champions. Trail shot a team score of 315 to finish two strokes ahead of Seven Hills high school over the 18 hole tournament. With the win, the Blazers qualify for the state tournament that will take place over two days on October 11th and 12th.
Trail was led by senior Nick Brubaker, who shot a very solid 73, good for 2nd place overall. Freshman Josh Brubaker came in at 79, senior Justin Turner shot 81, and junior Kellen Laird fired an 82. Senior Aidan Koehl shot 94 in the non-scoring spot.
The Blazers will complete their season next week when they travel to NorthStar Country Club for the state tournament.
