The high school cross country teams traveled to Centerville, OH for Saturday Night Lights (SNL). SNL is one of the races the team looks forward to. The racing takes place when it’s dark and the course is lit up with spotlights and light displays similar to Christmas lights. Unfortunately, hurricane Helene decided to make the course a mud pit. The teams raced with good spirits and had a lot of fun making a mess. Even when running through knee deep mud puddles.
Kira Rutan finished in 109th place out of 214 finishers. Tucker Denlinger finished in 28th, Braydan Lee in 102nd, Bryce Couvutsakis in 210th, and Merek Mumm in 218th. We had 1 runner slip and fall in the mud but still gave the race a 6/10- would do again.
Overall, not the conditions we prefer but it was definitely an experience they won’t forget!
The team will be back on Saturday, Oct 5th at Fort St Clair for the Ed Leas Fall Classic. This will be the last Elementary run for our younger group. Come out and support them!
