Tonight, the Lady Blazer Soccer team traveled to Yellow Springs to take on the Bulldogs. After playing Tuesday night and dealing with Tornado and rain delays which ultimately ended up in the game getting postponed with Trail up 2-0, the ladies came out and played their most complete game to date. Every member of the team contributed to the win tonight in one way or another. The defense consisting of Senior Taryn Rucci, Junior Ollie Mason, Sophomore Kenzie Harper and Freshman Rae Brodie stepped up big time tonight only allowing 4 shots taken on goal which Senior Josie Stiner handled with ease. Stiner even ended up picking up an assist to Sophomore Olivia Day on a drop kick ball from the goal. Liv played Josies deep ball, which soared past half field to find the back of the net for her 3rd goal of the night! That is Olivia's first hat trick game.
Sophomore Lillian Cordle had the other team goal on a beautifully played ball. Seniors Hannah Henderson and Megan Irvin collected the other assists for the team 1-2 respectively. Freshmen Bre Leal, Brooklynn Holsapple and Lily Schwieso really showed their strength tonight as attackers on the outside and helped the team get quality looks and opportunities. Senior Belle Anderson helped the Lady Blazers keep control of the ball in the Mid field and as an outside attacker, playing great lead passes to teammates giving them the opportunities to take shots at the goal. When this team comes together and plays like they did tonight it is really something special to watch. We will be back in action Tuesday 10/1, again on the road for a conference game against Preble Shawnee.
