The National Trail boys golf team traveled to Turtle Creek golf course to play in the sectional tournament today and came away with their 4th tournament win of the season!
The boys battled rain through much of their rounds, but still managed to hang on to a 3 stroke win over Covington. The Blazers were led by senior Nick Brubaker who shot 79 and finished 4th place on the day. Senior Justin Turner and freshman Josh Brubaker tied with 86, and Junior Kellen Laird followed with an 88 to round out the scoring. Senior Aidan Koehl carded a 95 for the non-scoring spot.
The win advances the team to next week’s district tournament. The district tournament is a 12-team tournament with the top four finishers from the three sectionals. This marks the fourth straight year Trail has qualified as a team, finishing 11th, 6th, and 5th in their previous attempts to advance. The top two teams advance to the state tournament.
