Over the weekend, the cross country team hosted the Blazer Invitational.
The high school boys were first to take on the course. Tucker Denlinger got 5th place, finishing the course in 18:06.6. Jackson Johnson was next to finish for the Blazers and he shattered his PR by cutting off 50 seconds! Jackson finished in 13th place in a new best of 18:54.4. Braydan Lee placed 16th in 19:13.5. Bryce Couvutsakis finished in 22nd place with a new PR of 19:41.3. Bryce cut off 40+ seconds to his time! Merek Mumm wrapped up the blazers scoring in 36th place with a new PR of 24:26.6. Merek crushed his previous time and cut off over a minute from last week!
Sydney Whalen finished in 6th place in 23:59.6. Kira Rutan finished in 14th place with a 25:17.9
Preston Barnes finished 4th in the junior high boys race by finishing the 2 mile course in 14:01.6
Ioma Alavez finished 5th in 14:56 and Maddison Loranzan finished 12th in 16:58
The heat started showing itself after the boys race making the rest of the day more difficult. The runners still did a great job pushing themselves! We know our junior high is on the lookout for some better weather so they can better represent their true speed and talent.
Blazers will race at Tri Village in the Patriot Invite on Tuesday and then the high school will travel to Centerville HS on Saturday evening for Saturday Night Lights
