Thursday the Lady Blazers hosted TVS in another conference match-up. The last time these two teams met earlier in the season the Panthers shut them out in a 4-0 victory. This game was a different story. The ladies came out fired up and ready to play, striking first on cross ball from Senior Megan Irvin. Senior Hannah Henderson was there to crash the net and put the Blazers up by 1, adding her 10th goal of the season (tying the school record).
Freshman Taylor Reynolds played her best game to date in goal until she was taking out trying to save a goal and had to come out of the game. She recorded 8 saves to keep the game close with a 1-1 tie going into half time. Senior Josie Stiner stepped back into her role as goalie and picked up where she left off recording 10 saves of her own, one coming from a PK kick. All the of the ladies played with so much intensity and heart the whole game even with losing 3 of our players to injuries. They gritted it out until the final buzzer against the number 3 team in the conference. We will travel to Dixie Saturday 9/21 for yet another conference game at 11 am.
