The Lady Blazers picked up their first conference win tonight against the Dixie Greyhounds. We got off to a slower start, but once the girls started working together and moving the ball around the field, they found the back of the net 6 different times, 4 of those goals coming in the first half.
Senior Hannah Henderson was responsible for 3 of those goals along with 2 assists. Sophomores Lillian Cordle and Olivia Day added to their season totals adding in 2 & 1 goals respectively. Seniors Megan Irvin and Belle Anderson also had an assist each, with Oliva Day having 1 as well.
The defense helped keep the pressure on the Greyhounds for most of the game by not allowing them on our side of the field. Senior Josie Stiner had 5 saves this game to help keep Dixie to only 1 goal.
We will be back action Thursday 9/5 for another home conference game against Preble Shawnee. We hope to keep up this momentum and home game winning streak.
