The National Trail Varsity football team traveled to Tri- County North for a Thursday Night matchup this past week. Despite the high temperatures the Blazer Football team was able to persevere this week and fight for 4 quarters to earn a hard fought team victory. Blazers win 26-12.
Zack Creager led the offensive effort with 25 rushes for 163 yards and 2 touchdowns.
Other rushing contributors were Cooper Smith with 41 yards and a TD, korbin. Sullivan with 40 yards on the ground, Jody Wintrow with 28 yards, and Talon Bousman with 37 yards and a TD.
Cooper Smith was 6 for 10 passing for 82 yards and Blazers hauling in catches included Henry Toschlog, Talon Bousman, Korbin Sullivan, Jody Wintrow, and Matthew Scott.
Defensively Matthew Scott led the Blazers defensive surge with 3 solo tackles, 9 total tackles and 2 tackles for loss. Aiden Martin also played a huge role with 2 interceptions.
The offensive and defensive lines were a key to the game and deserve a lot of credit for our ability to move the ball down the field and win the line of scrimmage.
The Blazers left a couple of scores on the field and will look to continue to improve this week.
Blazer Football travels to Preble Shawnee this coming week.
