TRAIL DOWNS NEWTON 152-169

The National Trail boys golf team hosted Newton tonight at Highland Lake golf course and came away with a 152-169 victory. The 152 is the lowest score the program has had in the last 6 years.
The Blazers were led by freshman Josh Brubaker who carded a 34, while senior Nick Brubaker followed with a 37. Senior Aidan Koehl shot a 40, while junior Kellen Laird and senior Justin Turner rounded out the scorers with matching 41s. Freshman Wyatt Gebhart rounded out the varsity match with a 52.
The Junior Varsity team also competed in a match with Newton and came away with a 187-238 victory. The JV were led by freshman Christian Rutan who shot a 44, junior Sawyer Davies who came in at 46, sophomore Charlie Cummings followed with 48, and junior Jackson Skinner finished up the scoring with a 49. That’s an outstanding team score that would compete with a lot of varsity teams in the WOAC.
The varsity team pushed their record to 5-0 in WOAC play with their win, while the JV are now 1-0.
Tomorrow the varsity team travels to Greenville to play Ansonia at White Springs golf course.
