Cross country opened up their season at Fort St Clair for the Preble County Championships.
The evening started with our junior high which resulting in all 3 athletes receiving medals! Ioma Alavez won the junior high girls race for the 2nd year in a row. Teammate, Maddison Laranzan tan her first cross country race and finished 7th to receive her medal. Preston Barnes was our only showing in the junior high boys race, placing 4th for his medal.
Our high school girls were next to run. The girls worked hard together to finish within the same second of each other. Kira Rutan finished 10th and Sydney Whalen finished 11th to receive ribbons.
The boys finished the evening placing 2nd as a team, behind Eaton. Tucker Denlinger finished 2nd to make 1st team for the county. Braydan Lee finished 11th and Jackson Johnson finished 14th to receive ribbons and join the all county honors. Rounding out the scoring was Bryce Couvutsakis who placed 22nd and Merek Mumm who placed 24th.
We also had a great showing of kids k-6 at the race- having 15 represent National Trail! Thank you all so much.
The teams compete Saturday, Aug 24th at the Bob Schul Invitational in West Milton.
