The National Trail boys golf team made the short trip to Eaton Country Club to take part in the Preble County Tournament and came away with their 4th straight championship. The Blazers used some record setting individual rounds to break the school record for an 18 hole match with a 12-over par 300.
Senior Nick Brubaker was first to finish, and the 71 he shot was one shot better than the previous 18 hole scoring mark. That lasted for only a couple minutes until Junior Kellen Laird came in with a matching 71. A few minutes later, freshman Josh Brubaker completed a 2-under par 70 for what is now the school record! Freshman Wyatt Gebhart came in at 88 to round out the scoring. Senior Aidan Koehl shook off a tough opening 9 holes to catch fire on the back and card a 91 and freshman Christian Rutan came in at 98.
The Blazers will be back at it again tomorrow in what has proven to be the best competition of any tournament we play in at Ft Loramie.
