The Blazer Varsity Track teams got their season underway on Friday April, 5th at the Dixie Invitational. Despite the chilly weather, the Blazers had a good showing. Both Boys and Girls teams finished 10th out of 13 teams with the boys scoring 20 team points and the girls scoring 25.
All 4 of the girls relay teams scored for the Lady Blazers with the 4x400 team of Taryn Rucci, Molli Deaton, Gretchen Murphy, and Hannah Henderson leading the way with a 5th place finish.
Murphy also finished 6th in the open 800
Henderson placed 5th in the Long Jump, and 8th in the open 200.
Kaitlyn Schweizer placed 5th in the Discus throw with a toss of 87-01
The boys team relied more heavily on individual performances for their scoring, but the boys 4x200 relay team of Jonah Brinkley, Korbin Sullivan, Jody Wintrow, and Tayten Reynolds placed 4th with a time of 1:39.81
Reynolds also placed 5th in the open 400 and 7th in the open 200.

The Blazers are back in action next Friday in the Fred Durkle Invitational at Twin Valley South. Field events begin at 4:30.
