SOFTBALL PICKS UP FIRST WIN

Softball picks up first win
National Trail played their most complete game so far on both sides of the ball
collecting eleven hits, yielding only two runs and striking out 5 opponents in only 5
innings.
The Blazers rallied in the bottom of the first, with two outs Morgan House drove in
Breanna Melling and Carley Hamm to start the scored. Miranda Ott followed with a
hit to plate House.
Carley Hamm blasted a grand slam to deep left field, clearing the bases in the
second to extend the lead. In the third, Miya Ditmer lined a triple to drive in Summer
Stringfield making the score 8-2.
The fourth inning found the Blazers adding to their score when Hamm led off with
a two bagger, House followed with a single. Ott later scored House on a fielders
choice. Macyn Patton singled then scored on a Stringfield fielders choice. The
home team completed their scoring in the fifth when Melling scored the final run on
an Ott ground out.
Meanwhile, the Blazer defense played well behind the pitching of Summer
Stringfield. Legacy Christian plated only two runs, zero earned. Stringfield struck
out five while walking two.
Trail is scheduled to play Centerville, IN on Monday April 1.
