GIRLS DROP SECTIONAL GAME TO LADY PATRIOTS

Girls Drop Sectional Game to Lady Patriots
After a solid week of practice, National Trail took to the court in their first round Sectional against the defending State Champion Tri-Village Lady Patriots in Versailles Saturday morning. Unfortunately, the Lady Blazers came out flat, managing only two first quarter points, placing them in a 14-2 hole by the end of the first. The Lady Patriots’ leading scorer feasted on an undersized defense in the post, out scoring the entire Blazer team with 24 points, including 11-12 effort from the free throw line. The Blazers had multiple turnovers, both as a result of defensive pressure and unforced, with many passes just off the fingertips and loose balls going the other way. Uncharacteristically, the Blazers also gave up more offensive rebounds than they have all season, all leading to a 64-23 loss to put a wrap on the season. In her final game, Senior Kendyl Johnson had six points, giving full effort at both ends of the floor. Junior Josie Stiner had six; Freshman Lillian Cordle, four; fellow freshman Claire Osswald, three; and Junior Hannah Henderson and Sophomore Ollie Mason each had field goals.

Thank you for the opportunity to represent National Trail this season, and for all the support you’ve given the team throughout the year. The offseason has already begun as we plan for the 2024-2025 campaign.
