LADY BLAZERS FALL TO TIGERS

Lady Blazers Fall to Tigers
Ansonia proved they were hungry for a win against National Trail Thursday night with a 48-23 victory over National Trail. The typical Lady Blazer defense we have become accustomed to seeing was missing, especially in the first quarter as the Lady Tigers jumped out to a 24-3 lead, which included five made three point field goals. Ansonia connected on eight triples for the game, despite Trail’s revitalized effort in the second quarter where they matched their opponents 10-10. Junior Josie Stiner led the Blazers in scoring with 11, Senior Kendyl Johnson had five, and Sophomore Morgan House, four. Freshman Claire Osswald connected on a baseline jumper, finishing with two, and fellow classmate Peyton White contributed a free throw. The loss drops Trail to 1-9 in WOAC play and 6-12 overall. The team will hit the road Saturday to play a 15-2 Legacy Christian squad. A two-quarter JV matchup will precede the Varsity battle at 11 AM.
