The National Trail Lady Blazers dropped their third game in the last five days with a 42-31 loss at home against Brookville. Trail allowed the Lady Devil’s leading scorer to erupt for 27 points, including 11-17 from the charity stripe. Unforced turnovers have been the Achilles heel for the Blazers, who have now slumped to lose their last five consecutive games. Trail showed moxy after early foul trouble sent Josie Stiner and Morgan House to the bench in the first half, and especially early in the third quarter when the Blazers tied the score at 24 by virtue of two clutch free throws from Hannah Henderson. Unfortunately, the Lady Devils got to the free throw line often after that point, shooting 18-27 in the game, compared to Trail who shot 8-14. Trail featured balance scoring, with Senior Kendyl Johnson and Henderson each netting nine; Stiner, eight; Morgan House and Isabelle Anderson, two; and Ollie Mason, one.

Earlier in the evening the JV Lady Blazers rose victorious over the Blue Devils 9-6 in a two-quarter matchup that pitted coach Garrett Denlinger against his Alma mater.

Trail will look to find their way forward as they travel to Dixie Thursday evening with a JV tip at 6 PM.
