TRAIL GIRLS DIG EARLY HOLE IN LOSS AT FRANKLIN

Trail Girls Dig Early Hole in Loss at Franklin
The Lady Blazers travelled south for a non-conference matchup with Franklin Saturday morning but could not replicate the effort or energy they featured in Thursday night’s showdown with Tri-Village. To say the Lady Blazers came out flat would be an understatement, in fact, finding themselves down 32-11 at the half by virtue of surrendering five three point field goals. Trail regressed in their ability to control the ball, falling back into old habits of committing unforced turnovers. Early foul trouble also limited the Blazer attack with Hannah Henderson riding the pine and Josie Stiner suffering a lower-leg injury that kept her sideline for the remainder of the game. However, Trail managed to work through adversity and began clawing back in the third quarter, outscoring the Wildcats 10-2 in the frame. Unfortunately the comeback fell short resulting in a 50-30 loss that featured Franklin’s top two scorers combining to net 36. Junior Isabelle Anderson played significant minutes, securing several rebounds and contributing three points. Senior Kendyl Johnson and Sophomore Ollie Mason each had eight, Henderson, seven, and Sophomore Morgan House had four to go along with several assists.

The JV played one of their best defensive games, limiting Franklin to just 10 points in a two-quarter matchup. Anderson, Claire Osswald, and Adley O’Conner each scored field goals in the 10-6 loss on the road. Both teams will have another quick opportunity to rebound with another non-conference game Monday evening vs. Brookville at home. JV will tip at 6 PM.
