VARSITY BOYS PICK UP TOUGH ROAD WIN

Varsity Boys pick up tough road win
The boys picked up a nice WOAC road win on Friday night, defeating Twin Valley South, 33-30. The Blazers played great defense and executed it's half court offense in the first half and led 21-10. Ethan Osswald hit an early 3 to ignite the offense and Logan Smith and Kellen Laird each had 7 points in the half. The third quarter was a struggle offensively and Trail only scored 2 points. The defense didn't let up though and the boys led 23-18 after three quarters. Kellen Laird hit 2 tough 4th quarter buckets and finished with a game high 13 points. Logan Smith clowned a Panthers defender with a fantastic, late 4th quarter bucket and finished with 9 points. Tayden Blevins sealed the game with 2 free throws and Trail survived two desperation 3 point attempts at the buzzer. Tyler Lesh and Nick Brubaker played their usually strong defense. Lesh had a first quarter bucket and finished with 2 points. He added a high flying block that negated a sure Panther fast break basket.
The win moved Trail to 3-2 in the WOAC. They host Arcanum next Friday.
