8th grade ended the week with a loss on Saturday (going 2-1 overall for the week). In a non-conference showdown, the Lady Blazers found themselves playing tough against a good Brookville team. Costly turnovers and inability to hit free throws (going 3/12 in the first half) ended up proving to be too much for the Lady Blazers to overcome.
Bre Leal had 7 points, Sammy again had a big game under the basket with 5 points and a couple rebounds. Kira Rutan hit a big 3 pointer early in the first quarter to put the 8th grade up by 5. Eva rounded out the Blazers scoring with 2 points and a team high, 8 rebounds and 2 steals.
We will travel to TCN on thurdays for another non-conference game.
