8th Grade Boys Come 1-pt Short in Brookville, 34-35
The Blazers were on the road for the third time in 6 days Saturday trying to avenge a double-digit loss from last season. The boys played intense, stifling defense on Brookville's sharp shooters and shared the ball offensively.

In the fourth quarter, Talon Bousmam scored 8 straight to give the Blazers a 1-pt lead with a minute left, but a controversial block/charge call put Brookville at the line where they made two free throws to take the lead. The Blazers couldn't get a score on the next possession, and with under 20 seconds left in the game, they scrambled to get a steal with 4 seconds left, but a last second shot didn't fall.

Bousman and Westin Lipps led the Blazers with 10-points each and a combined 12 rebounds. Josh Brubaker had 4 rebounds and 3 assists. Mason Cordle added 7 points, 2 rebounds, and 1 assist. Coltin Lipps, Wyatt Gebhart, and Carson Laubenstein played solid games.

The Blazers are now 2-2 overall, but remain undefeated in conference play (2-0, WOAC). The boys have shown great improvement since last year, nearly pulling off wins on the road in Eaton and Brookville to teams that beat them handily last year.

The boys are back in action for their first home game next Thursday against Tri-County North.
