The varsity boys kicked off their season Friday night against a talented and athletic Eaton Eagles squad. The boys played a strong game, but fell 66-52. A poor second quarter defensively ended up being the deciding factor in the game as the Eagles scored 26 points in that quarter. Kellen Laird led the way with 22 points for the Blazers. Tyler Lesh and Nick Brubaker added 7 points each. Ethan Osswald played a solid game defensively and had 4 key second half points when Trail cut the Eagles lead down under 10. Jonah Brinkley scored the first 2 points of his varsity career.
The night featured Blazer basketball legend Tony McWhinney's induction into the NT Hall of Fame and a crowd filled to near capacity.
The boys travel to New Miami Saturday with the JV tipping
at 5:00 pm.
