TRAIL BOYS GOLF ADVANCES

Trail Boys Golf Advances
The National Trail boys golf team advanced through a tough sectional field at Turtle Creek golf course! The boys finished in 2nd place, where the top four teams advance to the district tournament.
The Blazers also broke the school record for most wins in a season by finishing 11-1 during the tournament. The previous record was held by the 2002 team that won 80 times. This tournament puts the 2023 team to 85 wins with at least one more tournament to play.
The Blazers were led by sophomore Kellen Laird who finished in 4th place overall with a 77. Junior Justin Turner finished 9th overall after firing an 85. Junior Nick Brubaker finished in 10th overall with an 86, and senior Fletcher Davies ended up in 14th place with an 88. That gave the team a 336 total which ended up 8 strokes behind Newtons and 12 ahead of Covington. Junior Aidan Koehl finished with a 102 as the fifth score.
The boys will now travel to Heatherwoode golf club in Springboro for the district tournament. It will be live broadcast on the city of Springboro’s YouTube channel on Monday.
