TRAIL BOYS WIN WOAC

Trail Boys win WOAC
The National Trail boys golf team made the short trip to the Richmond Elks Country Club to participate in the WOAC Tournament and left as conference champs! Needing a little help to be able to win conference, the boys did their part in shooting a 331 team score and winning the tournament. They needed someone else to beat Newton, who came in undefeated, and got that help when Arcanum finished ahead of Newton 333-341. The conference championship is the first for a National Trail boys golf team since they won the CCC in 2002.
The Blazers were led by junior Nick Brubaker who finished 2nd overall on the day with a 79. Nick also finished 2nd in the conference individual standings! Sophomore Kellen Laird shot an 81 to finish 5th on the day and ended up in 6th place in the conference individual standings. Junior Justin Turner came in with an 85, good for 8th place on the day and 10th in the conference individual standings. Senior Fletcher Davies saved his best for his last conference tournament, shooting an 86. He finished 12th on the day. Juniors Riley Littrell and Aidan Koehl shot matching 98s to round out the Blazers’ efforts.
The boys return to the course next week in the Sectional tournament, where they will look to keep their hot play going. The top 4 teams at the Sectional tournament advance to the Disctrict tournament.
