National Trail Varsity Blazers Win on Senior Night

National Trail Varsity Blazers topped Milton-Union 4-3 on Wednesday.
Milton-Union got on the board in the top of the first inning after Fraley hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run, and Schuler singled, scoring two runs.
Leal earned the win for National Trail Varsity Blazers in relief. The hurler surrendered one hit and zero runs over one inning, striking out one and walking one. Mcguffey took the loss for Milton-Union. The pitcher went three and two-thirds innings, giving up two runs on two hits, striking out three and walking none. Laird stepped on the bump first for National Trail Varsity Blazers. The hurler surrendered two hits and three runs over five innings, striking out seven and walking four. Stone stepped on the mound first for Milton-Union. The pitcher allowed three hits and two runs over three innings, striking out seven and walking none. Coffey tossed one inning of zero-run ball for National Trail Varsity Blazers in relief. The pitcher surrendered zero hits, striking out two and walking three.

Leal and Laird were tough to handle back-to-back in the lineup, as each drove in one run for National Trail Varsity Blazers. Laubenstein, Leal, Coffey, Clark, and Laird each collected one hit for National Trail Varsity Blazers.

The Blazers entered the bottom of the 7th down 3-2. With two outs and no one on, Carson Laubenstein singled to center and was pinch ran for by Weston Lipps. Nick Clark singled in the next at bat allowing Lipps to go from first to third. On the next pitch, Clark breaks for second from first on an "early break" steal call causing the pitcher to balk scoring Lipps and tying the game. Two wild pitches later, Clark scores the winning run for a Blazer 4-3 walk off win on Senior night.

National Trail Varsity Blazers play at home on Thursday against Newton in their next game.

The Blazers move to 13-6 overall.
