Tuesday was youth night for National Trail Varsity Blazers and we swept Twin Valley South 11-1.
A sacrifice bunt by Kinley Marker put National Trail Varsity Blazers on the board in the bottom of the first. Blazers added to their early lead in the bottom of the third inning after Twin Valley South committed an error, Marker grounded out, Madison Lawson singled down the left field line, and Twin Valley South committed an error, each scoring one run.
Addison Sexton led things off in the circle for National Trail. The starting pitcher allowed one hit and zero runs over two and one-third innings, striking out none and walking one. Katie Wyatt appeared in relief holding them to just one run.
Taylor Reynolds and Kenady Thompson were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected two hits while hitting back-to-back. Marker drove the middle of the lineup, leading National Trail Varsity Blazers with three runs batted in. Zaylynn Vance led with two walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, collecting seven walks for the game.
