National Trail Varsity Blazers were triumphant over Dayton Christian 6-2 on Saturday.

Dayton Christian were the first to get on the board in the fourth when Daniel Thoma laid down a sacrifice squeeze, scoring one run.

National Trail Varsity Blazers flipped the game on its head in the top of the sixth, scoring six runs on six hits to take the lead, 6-2. The biggest blow in the inning was a single by Grady Ott that drove in two.

Mason Leal earned the win for National Trail Varsity Blazers. The hurler surrendered four hits and two runs over seven innings, striking out seven and walking two. Logan Orwick took the loss for Dayton Christian. The reliever went three innings, surrendering six runs (five earned) on nine hits, striking out four and walking none. Thoma stepped on the mound first for Dayton Christian. The starter surrendered zero hits and zero runs over four innings, striking out 11 and walking six.

National Trail Varsity Blazers tallied nine hits in the game. Ott drove the middle of the lineup, leading National Trail Varsity Blazers with two runs batted in. The catcher went 2-for-4 on the day. Braylon Coffey, Ott, and Kellen Laird each collected two hits for National Trail Varsity Blazers. National Trail Varsity Blazers had patience at the plate, piling up six walks for the game. Nick Clark and Christian Miears led the team with two free passes each.

National Trail Varsity Blazers will travel to Legacy Christian Academy Varsity Knights for their next game on Tuesday.
