Opening weekend Preble County kickoff tournament
Friday night vs TCN (Round 1)
The team opened the season with a strong defensive performance, setting the tone early by forcing turnovers and containing TCN's top scoring guard. Ball pressure on the perimeter was consistent throughout the first half, allowing our guards to capitalize on fastbreak opportunities and jump out to an early lead. Offensively, we executed our half-court plays with great ball movement and spacing, resulting in balanced scoring across the lineup. Despite a late push from TCN, the team’s composure held as we secured a solid first round and season opening win. Trails scoring was led by Sophomore Taylor Reynolds with 17 points, 5 rebounds and 3 steals. Morgan House added 7 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 blocks. Our bench scoring came up huge adding 11 points, 9 rebounds and 2 steals. It was a great showing and team effort!
Saturday night vs Preble Shawnee (Championship game)
On Saturday, the team faced a physical matchup and responded with resilience. We got out to an early lead moving the ball quickly against the press and half court traps. Being that we are still early in the season the fatigue started to set in as the game moved on and we started to slow down offensively. In the 2nd half Preble Shawnee turned up the pressure and our girls fought back with everything they had. We made some important free throws late in the 4th quarter to seal the deal, taking home the first ever Preble county kick off tournament championship! Our scoring was lead by Sophomore Taylor Reynolds with 15 points, 5 rebounds and 5 steals. Senior Morgan House added 7 points and 5 rebounds. Junior Lillian Cordle had 6 points and 4 rebounds. Once again our bench came up big with 9 points, 4 steals, 4 rebounds.
The Girls Varsity Basketball team emerged victorious in a highly competitive tournament featuring four physical, hard-nosed teams. From start to finish, the event demanded toughness, composure, and disciplined execution—attributes our players displayed throughout. Thank you to all who came out to support the program!
