NT Boys Basketball opened their season on Friday night against county foe, Eaton. The Eagles traveled into Blazer Country this year for the matchup. First quarter the Blazers started a bit slow on Offense but had Defense ratcheted up from the tip. At the end of 1 NT trailed 8-6. The Blazer offense came alive in quarter 2 and the defense remained stiff. The Blazer offense outscored the Eagles 20-4 in the 2nd frame for NT to take 26-12 lead into halftime. The Blazers came out strong again in the 3rd quarter again outscoring Eaton 15-7 in the quarter to take a 41-19 Lead into the start of the 4th. Slowing down our offense and playing some different lineups we finished off with a 47-30 victory.
Kellen Laird led all scorers with 23 points, 8 rebounds, and 4 assists, Tayden Blevins chipped in 12 points, 4 Rebounds, and 1 block, Josh Brubaker added 5 points and 3 Rebounds, Kaeden Culbertson added 4 points, Grady Ott made two huge free throws and played some great defense, Mason Cordle knocked down a free throw and added 8 rebounds, while Talon Bousman, Coltin Lipps, and Jonah Brinkley all added great defense and Rebounds.
Blazers return to action Saturday November 29 at home against Talawanda. JV-B Games starts at 4:45 with the rest to follow.
