The varsity football team fell to the Ansonia Tigers on Friday with a final score of 54-19. The Tigers outgained our Blazers with 452 yards to the Blazers 296 yards. The Blazers went into halftime trailing 16-6 but could not match the Tigers in the 3rd quarter with the tigers taking control of the ground game.
Offensively the Blazers had a couple of stand out performances. Jonah Brinkley Hauled in 3 TD catches with totals of 6 catches for 171 yards. This places him at 2nd in the league for receiving yards with 308 yards and also 2nd in the league in TD receptions. Talon Bousman threw for 109 of these yards and 2 of the TDs while also rushing for 56 yards and a 5.1 yard avg. Aiden Martin threw for 79 yards and a TD. Jody Wintrow also added 30 yards on the ground while Nick Clark had 3 receptions.
Defensively Talon Bousman led the way with tackles with 12 total tackles, 5 solo, and 2 tackles for loss. Matthew Jones had 9 tackles as well .
The Blazers look to record their first win this coming Friday when 2-1 Miss. Valley comes to Trail.
