CROSS COUNTRY AT BROOKVILLE INVITE

The cross country teams went to Golden Gate Park in Brookville to compete in the Brookville Invitational. The runners saw a lot of good competition and had great runs! Competing against 30 or more teams in each race.
High school boys had a beautiful morning to start the day. Tucker Denlinger placed 11th to receive a medal with a new season best of 17:02.8. Bryce Couvutsakis ran a great race with a season best of 19:45.1, only a few seconds off of his PR. Preston Barnes was close behind with a new PR of 19:54.4, shaving 20 seconds off last weeks time! Merek Mumm finished the race in 22:27.4.
The girls had their first race as a full team today. Leading the way was Sydney Whalen with a new PR 22:29 and 5 spots away from a medal. Kira Rutan and Ioma Alavez had a photo finish, with Kira edging slightly ahead of Ioma. Both girls ran a new PR of 23:24.6. Ruby Sink ran her first 5k as a Blazer and finished in a 24:59.7. Taygen Toothman also ran her first cross country race in a 29:41.5. The girls team placed 11th.
Junior high boys were lead with Wyatt Overleys new PR of 13:06.9. Emmett Jacob ran a new PR of 15:00.7 for his 2 miles. Levi Saylor was within 10 seconds of his PR and ran a 18:55.1 today.
Junior high girls were last to hit the course. Maddison Loranzan ran a new season best of 16:48.1. Dalila Alavez cut about 50 seconds off her best to have a new PR 17:40.1. Myka Smith finished the day with 23:53.9, only 3 seconds off of her best.
The teams race at the Eaton Invitational next Saturday.
