The middle school volleyball teams played hard fought matches versus Newton on Thursday night.
The 7th grade couldn't quite overcome the Indians, falling in 2 extremely close sets. Haven Ruebush led the team with 4 aces. Jessa Barnes led the team at the net with 2 kills.
The 8th grade team started out flat, losing the first set. However, they were able to dig deep in set 2 and force the rubber match. Big service runs by Zoey Jordan and Leiloni Davis helped Blazers push past Newton to get the W on the night. Jordan led the team with 13 points and 4 aces. At the net, Eli Wolfe-Swartsell had 7 kills. This was a full team win, as they girls had to dig deep and work together to come back from behind.
Both teams travel to Franklin Monroe on Monday night.
