Cross Country Opens Up At Dixie

Junior high and high school cross country opened up at the Dixie Tune-Up, with all runners competing on a 2 mile course.
Our 3 junior high boys hit the course for the first time. Wyatt Overley ran a 14:02.4 to place 13th. Followed by Emmett Jacob who ran a 16:13.7 and Levi Saylor who ran a 21:58.2.
High school boys also raced the 2 mile course. Tucker Denlinger led the boys with a 7th place finish in a 11:00.7. Bryce’s Couvutsakis was next to finish with a 12:35.2. Boys wrapped up with Merek Mumm at 13:31.1 and Preston Barnes with a 14:10.3.
Junior high girls were led by Maddison Loranzan who finished her 2 miles in an 18:06.3. Dalilah Alavez was 2 places behind her finishing in a 19:26.5. Myka Smith finished up the junior high girls race in a 24:58.8.
High schools were last to hit the course. Sydney Whalen and Ioma Alavez led the way in 8th and 9th to receive medals. Finishing the course in a 14:42.9 and 14:52.0. Kira Rutan rounded out the girls in a 16:41.9.
The teams run at their first invitational this Saturday at the Bob Shul in West Milton. Elementary XC will also debut at this meet.
