The National Trail HS Girls Golf season started with the first of four invitationals on August 1. The Lady Blazers team this year returns the following letter winners from last year. Seniors Jocelyn Osborne, Ava Spalding, and Meadow McKinley, plus junior returning letter winner, Jenna Deaton. Joining the team this year are three juniors, Allison Snyder, Ella Porter, and Adley O'Conner.
The girls participated in four invitationals thus far, The Blazer Invite, The Lady Bucc at Echo Hills, The Union City Invite, and the Lady Tiger Invite at Stillwater Valley G.C. As is the case in August the girls from all schools have had to battle extreme heat which has taken its toll on players in some cases. But the Lady Blazers are all gaining valuable experience heading into the conference schedule.
In the Lady Bucc 18 hole event, Jocelyn Osborne led the way with a 92, tying for 13th place. Also, at the Lady Bucc, junior Allison Snyder had closest to the pin on the par 3 #7 hole at Echo Hills. Her shot landed four feet from the cup.
Later at the Lady Tiger Invite Jocelyn Osborne fired a 93 which got her in a tie for 6th place individually.
In the first dual match, Tri Village defeated the Blazers 216 to 230. Osborne was low for the Blazers with a 47 in the 9 hole match.
The girls will be in action next Monday, August 18, at Beechwood , where they will meet Tri Village again on the Patriot's home course.
