The National Trail boys golf team traveled to Hueston Woods golf course to take part in the Talawanda Invitational and came away tied for 7th out of 20 teams.
The Blazers competed in the top division this year - where 16 of the 20 teams compete in division 1 and 2 others compete in division 2 - and more than held their own. Sophomore Josh Brubaker continued his strong start to the season with a T-2 finish shooting 77. Senior Kellen Laird finished T-8 shooting 79. Sophomore Christian Rutan finished with 90 and sophomore Wyatt Gebhart came in with a 92 to round out the scoring. Junior Charlie Cummings came in with a 107 in the non-scoring spot.
The boys get the weekend off before taking part in the Indian Hill’s Invitational on Monday at TPC River’s Bend.
